Position Title: Color Guard Instructor; Part-Time

Position Description: Color Guard Instructor for Southwest ISD Schools
Southwest ISD is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and hard-working individual to teach high school Color Guard students for the 2018-2019 school year. The successful applicant will teach intermediate to advanced students for Fall marching band color guard (9-12) before or after school and for one class during the school day. In the Spring, the instructor will teach winter guard for competitions, engage in various Fiesta performances before or after school and for one class during the school day, and develop the program for the following year to include recruiting of new members. Teaching fundamentals of performance, dance, body, choreography, equipment manipulation, and musicality are a must. The position is for a maximum of 20 hours per week. A positive attitude and the ability to motivate students to practice and improve their color guard skills is vitally important. The ability to integrate the color guard with the overall marching presentation will be a component of the position, as well as strong, competitive skills in the winter guard season.
