Position Description: The School District of Osceola County is seeking an inspired and innovative jazz music educator to lead the award-winning Osceola County School for the Arts jazz program. Chosen applicants will be uniquely qualified in improvisational pedagogy, creativity in teaching, and skilled interpretation of jazz styles. The selected candidate will assume instructional responsibilities for the nationally recognized jazz ensembles and jazz theory program for grades 6-12.

The Osceola County School for the Arts is decorated with national prominence. The school has been included in the top-echelon in school ranking publications including US News, the Washington Post, and Niche.com analytics. Artistically minded individuals are admitted to the school through audition or portfolio submission, and accepted students are positioned in one of eight major disciplines: Visual Arts, Drama, Instrumental Music (Band), Instrumental Music (Orchestra), Creative Writing, Dance, and Technical Theater. Most recently, the school has been represented as an Essentially Ellington finalist in 2014, 2017, and 2018, in which the band earned an invitation to perform at Lincoln Center in New York as one of fifteen top jazz programs in the United States.
